The Tempe Diablos Celebrate Giving event is an annual celebration recognizing the local nonprofits and programs that have received grants from Tempe Diablos Charities. Its purpose is to honor the impact of these organizations and showcase how the funding is helping to improve the Tempe community. The event brings together community leaders, grant recipients, and supporters to celebrate shared progress and inspire continued giving.

More About the Event
Many notable guests were in attendance, including Councilmember Arlene Chin, Councilmember Berdetta Hodge, Vice Mayor Jennifer Adams, City Manager Rosa Inchausti, and Deputy City Manager Keith Burke. Distinguished speakers at the event were Steve Henderson from Ballet Arizona and Dawn Garza from Lily’s Pad, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping children battling Leukemia. These two organizations represent the great diversity the Diablos help support to continue to make Tempe an extraordinary city. The Celebrate Giving event serves as a tribute to the remarkable impact the Tempe Diablos make in the community by supporting a wide range of initiatives that closely align with their mission.
Funding Guidelines
The Tempe Diablos Charities Grant Program application serves to provide a comprehensive review of programming requests of charities that serve the community of Tempe. Tempe Diablos Charities reserves the right to accept or reject any application and to approve or disapprove any proposal for funding. Tempe Diablo Charities also reserves the right to change the application criteria at any time. Other guidelines/considerations may apply and will be evaluated on an individual basis. Tempe Diablo Charities provides grants ranging in size from $1,000 to $100,000, depending on revenues.
Funding Eligibility
Tempe Diablos Charities does not intend to provide funding to/for:
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, marital status, age, disability, or veteran status.
- Individuals.
- Political, labor, or fraternal organizations.
- Funding medical or scientific research.
- Funding advocacy or lobbying activities or issue-related topics.
- Religious organizations, churches, or programs that are purely denominational in purpose.
- Funding debt reduction campaigns.
- Funding for general operating needs or ongoing support, including but not limited to salaries or transportation (except for some educational needs).
- Funding for projects/programs outside Tempe unless project/program serves primarily Tempe or Tempe residents.
